I would like to thank everyone for a great opening tournament weekend. The weather was the best that we have had for years and we had beers sales to prove it! Thank you to everyone for supporting your league.

Bat Raffle
There weren’t a lot of tickets out there for the bat raffle this year, but all proceeds from the draw helped to defray the costs for our tournament.
The COMbat Virus Morphed generously donated by Mike at SportZone was won by Bob of More Cowbell.
Congratulations, Bob (Statsman – seriously, it was all legit!).
Lineup Cards
These worked about as well as … well let’s just say they didn’t work at all!
Out of all the line-up cards that I received back from the umpires, there were exactly 2 that were filled out somewhat correctly – including proper first AND last names (NOT nicknames) AND with the proper diamond number, time played and team name listed at the top AND where both teams used the same lineup card. I heard nothing but complaints about these all weekend from the players and the umpires. We tried them and they failed miserably!
The Executive has made a decision and we will NOT be using the line-up cards anymore. We all have score books and you are required to keep score in the books for every game this year. Only the games that are in the score book will be allowed to be used for playoff eligibility.
IF there is an eligibility question for a player at playoff time, ALL books for that division will be collected by the Executive and playoff eligibility will be determined at that time. We will disallow any games where the line up has been obviously altered after the game to account for a player to qualify them for the playoffs.
If you have any questions regarding this rule change, please see me.
Good luck to everyone this season.
Thanks,
Jon
