Rosters Reminder

I want to remind the coaches that the rosters are frozen and any changes MUST be put forth to the Executive before the roster will be changed.

I know that in the middle of the summer when players go on holiday and teams are short handed you may think it is ok to just bring out a few players to fill spots. Let me remind you that this is not ok and you are not allowed to pick up players for sake of avoiding a forfeit. The schedules have been out for over 3 months and you have 20 players on your roster. The rules are in place and are not optional.

Non roster players are NOT insured. You are putting your own team and your opponents in jeopardy if something were to happen. These players are not insured through NSA and are not eligible to play.

Secondly, it has been brought to my attention that some teams/spectators attitudes and demeanor on and off the field have become less than sportsmanlike.

These are some key notes from our constitution:

Mission Statement

To provide a vehicle by which competitive and recreational classes of slo-pitch shall be played by teams from this area.

To promote sportsmanship and fair play by all ball players involved.

RULES OF CONDUCT FOR PLAYERS, TEAMS AND SPECTATORS
1. There will be no drugs or alcohol in the ballpark.
2. Noise in the parking area and on the streets will be kept to a minimum.
3. All players and spectators will conduct themselves in a mature and responsible manner.
4. Profanity will not be tolerated.

FAILURE TO OBEY THE ABOVE RULES WILL RESULT IN THE EXPULSION OF THE PLAYER(S) FROM THE LEAGUE ON THE FIRST OFFENCE.

A SECOND OFFENCE BY A PLAYER(S) FROM A TEAM THAT HAS HAD A PREVIOUS EXPULSION WILL RESULT IN THE EXPULSION OF THAT TEAM FROM THE LEAGUE.

Some teams/players have forgotten that this is a recreational league and that the game is just a game. Disrespect towards other players/teams will not be tolerated. All umpires have been informed of these actions and have been asked to monitor and react as is necessary. This league is a vehicle for people to get out and have some fun. Yes, the games can get competitive but there is NEVER any reason to disrespect another player or team.

If anyone has a question or problem with this, feel free to speak with me personally.
I expect that you will inform your players and fans of this notice.

Any further occurrences will be dealt with by the Executive.

Regards,
Bruce
