The schedules are ready and posted – now we just need to finish out our regular season so we can slot in the team names.
Divisional Champions have been decided:
Congratulations go out to Friar Tuck’s (Division I), Sharks (Division II), Lyon Financial (Division III) and Rangers (Masters 45) for taking their respective division titles.
Playoff Scheduling Notes:
Instead of the Championship Round / Consolation Round setup we have used over the past number of years, we have an open concept elimination playoffs for this season where everyone makes the same round of the playoffs. For the Quarter Final Round, this means the highest seeded team will play the lowest seeded team based on the final regular season standings.
After this initial round, the remaining teams will be reseeded – again based on their standings in the regular season. This means that the highest remaining seeded team will play the lowest remaining seeded team and the remaining 2 teams will face each other. The winners of this round advance to the Finals.
* Exception: Masters 45 will use the same format as they have in the past with 5 teams in the division.
** Note: As in past years, if both sides of the next series have completed their series and there is an open time slot (i.e. where game 3 was scheduled), we will move their game up into that time slot. We’re stretched right to the end of September as it is (our cut-off as decided by the City) and don’t have any make-up slots in case we run into weather. Both teams will be consulted/notified of any changes to their schedules such as this.
