Bat Policy
While RCMSPL recognizes the political game the bat approval process can be, the purpose of having an approval process remains – setting an acceptable standard of bat performance such that the safety of the players is not compromised. To be eligible for use in Royal City Men’s SloPitch League play, all bats must be approved by RCMSPL.
From our discussions with NSA Canada we learned that any bats used in play that were not approved by NSA Canada could negate our insurance coverage in the event an incident arose. From our past experience and adherence to the ASA Standard for bat compliance, we have disallowed any bats that were “banned” by ASA. At our meeting of April 28, 2005, we concluded that we would only allow bats that met both standards.
Any bat that does not appear on BOTH the ASA Certified Bats list and the NSA Canada Approved Bat List will NOT be eligible for RCMSPL play in 2010.
