All games are cancelled for tonight and have been rescheduled for August 18th.
I realize this leaves some teams with 3 games in that week, but we really have no choice at this point as we need to complete all games before we can begin our playoffs!

GTCSPL

GAMES ARE STILL SCHEDULED TO GO (barring anything unforeseen)!

Marden Park:

All games scheduled for tonight have been cancelled as the diamond is under water.

Guelph Lake:

All games scheduled for tonight will be rescheduled for a later date.

All cancelled games have been rescheduled wherever they could fit into the schedule.
Please check your team schedules.

All games to this point that have been rained out, cancelled, or not played for whatever reason have now been rescheduled. Please make sure to check your ONLINE schedules to see the changes!

If there are any conflicts (there shouldn’t be, but I do sometimes miss these things), please let me know AS SOON AS POSSIBLE so I can make any necessary changes.

You’ll note also (should you care to look at the Master Schedule) that we’re getting a little short on diamonds – please do what you can to make sure that all scheduled games get played when they are scheduled for.

Let me remind you that the unseasonably, cold, windy and rainy weather we’ve experienced early in this season is part of the norm for May for the past few years.

I just want to make it clear that the league has a very tight schedule and we need to stick to it as much as possible.

The only conditions that are acceptable to call a game are:

- The City closes the field.

- The UMPIRE deems the FIELD condition unplayable.

- There is lightning in the area.

- The league Executive calls the game for whatever reason.

Please do your best to stick with this as we have limited dates available for rainouts – never mind for games that are called because it is too cold to play.

This was in response to the cancellation of a few games while other games played on the next diamond. While some games are still to be determined as to whether they will be rescheduled, any other games that have been cancelled for legitimate reasons, such as “the lights didn’t work” (and have since been fixed), will be rescheduled at a later date. The open diamonds are visible for all to see on the Master Schedules (both leagues), so you can be confident that no games will be rescheduled for any time soon.

This is just a reminder that games are all set to play as scheduled when City diamonds are open – subject to a “game-time” decision by the umpire. That means you have to go out to the diamonds ready to play unless your team gets a call from the league (in which case, something should also be posted here).

Tuesday’s rained out games have now all been rescheduled.

I had to cut in to the last week of the season before the closing tournament for all the games except one (Jose’s Banditos vs. BDO Blues goes August 6th) but I will likely be able to change those later in the season when we know the status of GG4 lights. We may also pick up some Tuesday diamonds late in the season when the mens’ league is well into their playoffs, but I still have some games to reschedule there so we’ll have to wait and see.

As always, if there is any problem with the reschedules, please let me know as soon as possible so I can make any necessary changes.

The rained out games have not been rescheduled at this point as I am still waiting for the good word on the GG4 lights. You can see that the work has begun and (this from a usually reliable source) should progress fairly quickly once all the hardware is in. Best estimate from said source has the diamond available for us by the end of the month at the latest. As we currently have 14 games to make up, this will still end up pushing the start of the playoffs into the 1st week of September – it’s gonna be tight!
